If there’s one step you shouldn’t miss when applying your make-up, its colour correcting! Today we are talking different colour concealers that will work magic on your face even on a day you don’t want to have a full face of make-up.
We all know about concealer but a lot of us only know that it’s used to cover dark circles and to highlight and contour. Concealer comes in different colours allowing them to be used for the different issues we face on a daily basis when it comes to our face. For people who don’t know what concealer is, concealer is used to hide or eliminate problem areas on our face, from pimples, dark circles to tattoos, as well as highlight cheekbones and eyes.
If you understand the colour wheel that we were taught back in primary school then you will understand the different uses of the different concealers and how they actually work. The colour wheel when explained, says that colours directly across from another cancels the other out. Now that we understand this we can move on to explaining each function of each colours concealers come in
Green concealers are used to get rid of any redness on your face. Using a green based spot concealer will remove redness caused by pimples or any acne scars. If you have widespread redness, cause by sunburn for example, using a green primer will reduce redness and give an even toned base for flawless foundation application.
Purple concealers are great when it comes to eliminating any unwanted yellow undertones on your skin. People with a pasty, dull, yellow complexion who use purple concealers will love the fact that it adds a beautiful glow to their face. If you want to remove yellow tones from your entire face, consider a colour correcting purple primer. If you’re looking to conceal yellow spots, a spot concealer is best.
Pink or Peach concealers are best used for brightening around the eye area and hiding signs of fatigue. Pink concealers is a mixture of red, orange, and yellow hues which cross out blue, purple, and green hues. Use this concealer to combat dark under eye circles, cover raccoon eyes and to give sallow olive tones skin a much needed radiance since they are a great brighting agent.
Yellow concealers are a favourite and most used when it comes to make-up application because they are perfect for hiding purple or blue bruises, veins, and under eye circles. And because they are great as a base before applying your foundation or eyeshadow
Orange concealers work best for people with darker skin tones looking to hide dark circles or other spots with deep discoloration
White Concealer is very tricky and needs to be used right so you don’t look crazy. Use it for highlighting and contouring your cheek bones, dab a little on your upper cheek bones, right under your eyes, blending outward towards your ears. You can also use this in the inner and outer corners of your eyes to appear more awake, under your brow bone for a subtle brow highlight, down the middle of your nose and in your cupid’s bow for a perfectly highlighted face.
Some people are actually quite lucky to not have problematic skin and just have flawless looking skin. If that’s you then using neutral concealers is best. Use it on days when that uninvited pimple shows up or as a base for your foundation or lipstick
Now that we have schooled you on the different concealers, we hope you can go and buy them so you can achieve that flawless make-up look. Now you know why people always look like they have perfect skin with no dark spots or discoloration, its all cause of concealers
